History of Alpha Eta Chapter for Year of 1956-1957
The Fall semester began with the spirit that is now a
tradition with Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Eta. At 12 mid-
night of September 7, Alpha Eta buckled down to opening
of "Fall Rush". At this first meeting of Alpha Eta, not a
single Brother was absent! Brother Larry Roberts presented
his well planned rush program for all the Brothers to follow.
Each Brother was given his rushee list and instruction to get
out and bring in those men. Five more special rush week meet-
ings were held for the purpose of extending bids and working
out any weak points in the rush program. Eighty bids were
extended, and at the opening pledge meeting sixty pledges
answered the roll call.
A tremendous help to our rushing program was the trans-
formation of the living room. During the summer Brother Marvin
Haber had secured through his brother's furniture store in
Clearwater, complete new furnishings for the living room. To
add to this a new hi fi console radio and phonograph player
had been added by alumnus Brother Claude Wolfe of Orlando.
The hi fi set has been a well used means of music both during
rush and at many parties throughout the year.
The officers elected to guide the chapter through its
fall semester of the 1956 term were:
