At the close of school in 1935, Alpha-Eta
selected the following as its officers for the first
semester of the current year: Burwell Howard, SMC;
Herbert Boltin, IMC; James Moody, Housemanager; John
Courier, ThC, was held over from the previous year.
Norman Browne was appointed Steward; Jack Ransom, SC;
Bill Cathrae, MS; and Arthur Jordan, MC.
Alpha-Eta continued its policy of sponsoring an
extensive summer rushing campaign. This included,
besides numerous smaller gatherings in almost every
town in the state, banquets in Lakeland and Sanford,
swimming parties at Sanlando Springs, near Orlando,
and at Clearwater Beach, a dance in Miami, and a
smoker given by the Jacksonville alumni club. These
were climaxed by the annual statewide houseparty,
held at the beautiful Riviera Hotel, in Daytona Beach.
There about fifty brothers, thirty rushees and their
Àgtes gathered and spent a most enjoyable week-end
at the famous beach.
As a result of these extensive efforts, Alpha-
Eta, with Brother Boltin as rushing chairman, was
successful in pledging twenty-seven splendid, muchly
sought after men: Charles Bettes, Sanford; Glen Bor-
ing, Quincy; Leonard Burns, Sarasota; Billy Cauley,
Miami; John Clark, Chattahoochee; Billy Clonts, Lake-
land; Wilbur Conn, Orlando; Frank Guennsey, Orlando;
Billy Gibbs, Gainesville; Billy Graham, Gainesville;
Tommy Haydon, Clearwater; Paul Henderson, Lakeland;
Tweed Hogan, Montgomery, Ala.; Charlie Littlejohn,
Clearwater; Billy Long, Gainesville; Wesley McRae,
Lakeland; Moss Mabry, Marianna; Billy Mason, Surasota;
Watson Ramsey, Jacksonville; Jack Robinson, Orlando;
Roscoe Skipper, Lakeland; Garnet Stone, Clearwater;
Ed Thomas, Plant City; Billy Tomasello, Bartow; Nat
Turnbull, Daytona Beach; and Jimmy Wallace, Gainesville.
These newly pledged men chose as their officers:
John Clark, president; Billy Gibbs, vice-president;
Billy Graham, secretary; and Tommy Haydon, treasurer.
Billy Tomasello was selected as representative to the
Junior InterfraternitynConference. The pledge club
was in charge of Brother McMullen.
Alpha-Eta continued to play a dominating part
in University Social circles. Our annual Alumni
