HISTORY OF ALPHA-ETA - - of PI KAPPA ALPHA - 1925-'26
As the summer months draw nigh, the men of Alpha-Eta may
pause for a moment and look back on one of the greatest years
in her history. Success at every turn has been met in each line
of endeavor which this chapter has undertaken. The men of 125
and '26 can worthily congratulate themselves for the true Pi K A
spirit which they have shown.
When school opened in the fall of 1925 about twenty-five old
men and several transfers matriculated. Added to these were twenty-
seven of the best freshmen on the campus, which Alpha-Eta pledged
during "Rushing Season". These men have since proved their worth
in school activities as well as being valuable assets to the chap-
ter itself.
When football season opened many Pikes responded to the call,
and when letters were awarded, four of them came in for their share
of the glory. These men, Brothers Todd, Bryant, Scott and Ihrig,
formed the largest group from any one graternity on the University
of Florida campus. Added to these Brother Carl Brumbaugh, transfer
from Alpha-Rho, Ohio State, where he made his freshman numeral, and
several promising freshmen will return next fall to aid the 'Gators
in their 1926 campaign.
After the Holidays Brother Edgar Todd was elected to fill the
chair formally held by Brother Bishop. Bishop, by the way, is
probably the most honored man on the campus. He is captain of
Company "H", Scabbard and Blade, a member of the Blue Key, and
many other scholastic Honorary Fraternities. The Chapter will
loose a very influential man in Brother Bishop upon his Graduation
this Spring.
Following the mid-term examinations, eighteen new men were
given the necessary rites and became real Pi K As. These eighteen
men, out of the twenty-one that remained in school to take the
