History of Zeta Chapter for the year 1934-1935. By Geo. P. Taylor. Zeta had a rather unique year between 34 and 35 in several respects. Many of our old "faithfuls" left us in '34 thus leaving the reigns of the fraternity almost entirely in the hands of ophmores and Juniors. Also our chapter was smaller than it has been in years, only about twelve actives returning. Fortunately, however, quite a few stayed up for the summer obviously to go to summer School, but in reality to see that Zeta would be takcon care of as of always. Those staying and really putting out during the sum r were Joe Caldwell, Robert Driver, Geo. Taylor, Pledge Franklin, Fred Cooper and two or three others whose names do not remember. All during the summer we were constantly on the alert watching prospects and rushing those who we knew were good men. wing to the smallness of the chapter at the beginning of the year and the very keen competition throughout the entire week and also for several days after it was a real fight to the finish. After it was over we had pledged twenty-seven mighty fine men, although several of these found it necessary to dr out before the year was over due to financial reasons, but even at that we fell that we have had a very successful year. ur chapter enrollment has svelled up from 13 to 27 and we are looking for- ward to initiating three at the beginning of next year and possibly two before sumer school is finished. As there are only three men leaving the chapter this year we shall look forward to having at least 20 good men to rush for us during the sumer: likevise that many up here at least by the time school commences, therefore doubly increasing our power of concentration of contact and opportunities for pledging that many more men.
