Charles Taylor. Kappa SMC. en-
tered college drama in the role of
Shadow and was well received. A:
henchman of the villianolls Truck he
performed with commmdable re-
serve and stage presence. Harold
Mflh was another senior who at-
te note in Winterset. in the
part of the SergeanL Ronald Lori-
mer an Carr and Ray Dtahek as
Hermann both gave excellent per-
formances. Newly-pledged Iames
Starr gave another fine performance
in the role of Lucia. the organ rind-
er. Although this is Starr's resh-
man year, he has ap eareti in sever-
al productions. p need the fresh-
man program and assisted in p
dudng others.
in the important role of Garth
Esdras. Robert Smith. a junior, gave
an understanding interpretation of
a difficult part. New to Transyl-
vania dramatize. Smith has appear-
ed in several oil-campus produc—
tions. Last summer he was in the
Gary (Indt) Civic Theater produc-
tion 01 Wintersel. with the same
role he took lot the Stagecraiters.
Most of the Kappa men who ap-
peared in Winteraei‘ are athlete.
Smith was varsity nzuartetback last
year. Taylor was ootball captain
and varsity center for three years.
Berman was varsity halibaclt until
in'uries forced him out oi football.
I was varsity halfback and
