Lt. Henry Leftwich McCorkle (Tennessee, Zeta 1898) became the first known Pi Kappa Alpha war death when he was killed on July 1, 1898 in the Spanish American War during the Battle of El Caney near Santiago, Chile.  The portrait artist is Ruth M. (Mrs. Frank) Fulton.
